Her Closet is the room Gifted built for the hardest category on this site to buy in, and it is worth saying that plainly at the door.
It is a dressing room rather than a wardrobe: a rail of clothing down one wall, a wall of bags, a run of shoes, a lit vanity, and an island in the middle with the jewellery on it. Everything is on display, which is the point — a closet is the one room in a house organised entirely around choosing.
The difficulty is size. Roughly half of what is in here has to fit, and a present that does not fit is a trip to a post office wearing a smile. So the room divides into two halves worth thinking about separately. The rail, the knitwear and the shoes are sized, and are gifts for someone whose size you actually know or a shopping trip you take together. The bags, the jewellery, the scarves, the sunglasses and the vanity are not sized at all, and are where a surprise gift belongs.
