Christmas Market Gift Ideas

Five stalls under the lanterns. 60 ideas across 5 areas — nothing is sold here, every pick opens a pre-filled search at the retailer.

About this shop

This market is five timber stalls around a snowy square after dark, each under its own canvas awning — green, red, ochre, blue and cream — with lanterns lit inside the booths and strings of bulbs hung overhead. It is the room Gifted built for winter giving that is not tied to one day: the birthdays and thank-yous that fill the cold months, as well as the big holiday ones.

Each stall sells one kind of thing. Wellness is under the green awning, food and drink under the red, gadgets under the ochre, books and stationery under the blue, and craft kits under the cream. Between them they cover the gifts that are hard to get badly wrong for an adult: things that get used, eaten, read or made.

A market is a good model for gifting because it is specific. Nobody leaves a stall with a vague present. They leave with one tin of tea or one pen, picked up because it made them think of someone, and that is the standard worth holding a gift to. Nothing is sold here. Pick anything up and it opens a pre-filled search at the retailer, where the real listings live.

How the shop works

  1. 01

    Look around the room

Every piece on the shelves is something worth giving. Open the room in 3D and move through it the way you would a shop, or read the bays below if you would rather scan.

  2. 02

    Pick something up

Each product opens a short list of the specific things it could mean — a Dutch oven is a size and a colour, a watch is a strap and a face. That list is what the bay pages hold.

  3. 03

    Follow it to the retailer

Every pick opens a pre-filled search on the retailer’s own site. Nothing is sold here, and no price or stock is shown here, because theirs is the only version that is accurate.
